Pope Francis

A pipe banner commissioned by The Regiment to mark the 80th Anniversary of the Liberation of Rome and the 38th (Irish) Brigade Beating Retreat at St Peter’s Piazza.  The banner was made by Hand & Lock of London and carries, on the obverse, the Regimental Crest adopted by The Regiment on 1 February 2024.  The Reverse carries the Arms of Pope Francis.  Two banners were commissioned, the banner carried by Pipe Major Billy Mitchell at the ceremony in St Peter’s Piazza on 12 June 2024 was presented to His Holiness Pope Francis.
