Description
Very good first American edition (John G Wells of New York) of William Howard Russell’s History of The Russian War. Russell was an Irish (b. Tallaght, Co Dublin 1872) journalist working for The London Times, whose dispatches from the Crimea established his reputation as the first ‘war correspondent’ while also bringing about root and branch change of The British Army, particularly its logistics and medical provisions.
